Here's to the Girls
To celebrate Women’s History Month, I wanted to spotlight a couple of pioneers for women in sports, and in tennis specifically: the incredible Billie Jean King and Serena Williams. King is a groundbreaking athlete who fought for women’s equal pay and rights in the tennis world, and even won a record-breaking 20 Wimbledon titles in her 18-year-career on the court.
The Grand Slam season continues with the French Open next month, before continuing to Wimbledon in the summer and closing out with the US Open this fall. Lace up and follow closely as Serena Williams continues her incredible career in the coming months. With 39 major titles and the most Grand Slam titles in women’s tennis, she has been ranked No. 1 by the WTA for a total of 319 weeks throughout the course of her career.
